Julius has a unique flavor of infusing an array of styles with the distinct Soca Flavor pleasing a broad international market. He has been storming the stages internationally and leaves the crowds wanting more...
It was in 1991 when Julius, would go beyond mere village talent, when he performed on a track named "The Future Belongs to Me" with David Rudder. The song instantly became an anthem among T&T youth of that era who were facing a rising drug crisis. It also gained international appeal and was recognized by then First Lady, Hillary Clinton, who would use it as the theme for her drug-free campaign in colleges and high schools across the United States.
Julius caught the eye of Machel Montano while performing with a group from the Sea Lots community called Yard Men College, and got the chance to work on a number of songs alongside fellow musicians and cast members of the Xtatik/Mad bull crew. He has also shared the stage with many fellow Caribbean and international artistes such as Red Rat, Superblue, Lord Nelson, Kevin Lyttle, MX Prime, the Mighty Sparrow, Walker, and Buccaneer, to name a few. One of the highlights of this phase of his career was when Julius joined Jamaican dancehall artiste, Shaggy, on his mega hit “It Wasn’t Me” during a performance in Trinidad. Machel was said to have suggested Julius for the performance in the Real Unity Concert because of his, “milky melodious vocals.”
Julius has been performing abundantly in the NY region this year and returned from St Vincent' and the Grenadines' World Famous Carnival returning to shake the stage at the Philadelphia Caribbean Festival at Penn's Landing. Recently did an array of performances as part of the Labor Day West Indies Carnival in Brooklyn NY.
He is a prolific writer, a diverse artist and knows how to the work the crowd... When Julius takes the stage its time to dance. He's contagiously uplifting with his eclectic styles that encompass a full spectrum of world beats.
He's soon to be releasing his new song and will be taking it back home to Trinidad as part of his tour.
Keep your eyes and ears open for this artist he brings something new to the stage with each performance.
